Requirements regarding camping in Hawaii vary by jurisdiction, island, campsite, and facilities. The following information applies to the Island of Oahu. There are no national parks with campgrounds on Oahu. Note: Camping information is subject to change without notice. Please contact the applicable local office for current information. STATE FOREST RESERVES Island of Oahu District Office Dept. of Land & Natural Resources 1151 Punchbowl Street, #325 Honolulu, HI 96813 Tel. (808) 587-0166 (Closed weekends/State holidays) Hours: 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday for permits The following information applies to camping in Oahu's Forest Reserves. STATE FOREST RESERVE WITH CAMPSITES MOKULEIA FOREST RESERVE Access to the forest reserve's campground is via the Yokohama side of Kaena Peninsula on Oahu's leeward coast (at the end of Farrington Highway) Mountainous area. Two campsites are provided at the Peacock Flats Campground. Compost toilet. Picnicking. Water is not available - please bring your own drinking water. No open fires permitted. |
