  • Lanai offers a wide variety of ocean activities. However, there are no lifeguards on Lanai and some of its most beautiful beaches are remote and treacherous (especially during winter months). Exercise EXTREME caution before entering the water. When in Doubt, Just Stay Out!

Polihua Beach, Lanai
POLIHUA BEACH
Approx. 11 miles north of Lanai City. Accessible by 4-WD vehicles only from the Polihua Trail at the end of Polihua Road.

A famous green sea turtle nesting beach - good whale watching in season. Over 1-1/2 miles of windswept white sand. Dangerous currents - not safe for swimming. Surfing for expert surfers only.

Shipwreck Beach, Lanai
SHIPWRECK BEACH (KAIOLOHIA)
Accessible by 4-WD vehicle from the end of Keomuku Road (Rte. 430).

Approx. eight eight miles of shoreline with good fishing. Two shipwrecks visible. A shore stroller's paradise, a beachcomber's boutique. Home to many petroglyphs - including the Bird Man of Lanai.
