Self-guided and guided tours of the world's most famous battleship. Best known for being the site where General Douglas MacArthur and the Allied Forces ended World War II by accepting Japan's unconditional surrender in Tokyo Bay on September 2, 1945. Because Ford Island is a naval facility, and access is restricted, all tours begin and end shoreside at the USS Bowfin Memorial. The Memorial is open daily. Admission charge. Photo
