Northwestern Hawaiian Islands Coral Reef Ecosystem Reserve, Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary advisory councils to meet in Honolulu
The Reserve Advisory Council for NOAA’s Northwestern Hawaiian Islands Coral Reef Ecosystem Reserve (now part of Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument) and the Advisory Council for NOAA’s Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary will meet jointly on Wednesday, December 6, at the Pagoda Hotel in Honolulu, HI. The meeting is open to the public.
The councils will discuss the Navy's draft Hawaii-Southern California Training and Testing Environmental Impact Statement and recent presidential executive orders concerning national marine sanctuaries and marine national monuments. They also will discuss ways the councils can share resources and work together.

WHO: NOAA’sNorthwestern Hawaiian Islands Coral Reef Ecosystem Reserve Councils and Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary. Serving in a voluntary capacity, the councilmembers represent varying constituencies, including Native Hawaiian, research, conservation, commercial and recreational fishing, ocean-related tourism, education, and state and federal agencies.
