Hui o Laka presents the 29th Annual Emalani Festival Kauaʻi (Eo e Emalani i Alakaʻi Festival) on Saturday, October 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the lush expanse of the Kanaloahuluhulu Meadow in Kokeʻe State Park. One of the island’s most popular and authentic Hawaiian cultural events, the Emalani Festival Kauaʻi is a day of song, hula, history and pageantry, celebrating Hawaiʻi’s beloved Queen Emma and recalling her journey to the Kokeʻe uplands and Kilohana vista in 1871. Queen Emma will enter the meadow on horseback at 11 a.m. Exhibits, craft tables, silent auction, and a snack shop enhance the festival experience. Carpooling is recommended as parking is limited. Bring your own blankets or chairs (no tents or coolers). Animals are not permitted in state parks. Admission is free and all are welcome to join in the festivities. For more information, visit www.kokee.org or call (808) 335-9975.
