Come join us at Sugar Beach Events for a change of pace as we take you out of the kitchen and behind the bar for Bartending 101. So grab your jiggers and hold on to your shakers, Carl has agreed to teach you all you can learn about bartending in one night.
We would all like to know how to whip up a few cocktails when guests come over or maybe just for pau hana. If you can cook, you can absolutely make drinks! Carl will take you through the essential basics of bartending: the tools you'll need, mixers, characteristics of various spirits and how to use that knowledge to make your own recipes, how to pour, and maybe even how to get better tips. Of course, we'll all learn a few cocktails along the way so you can be the life of the party at your next gathering.
For this class, Chef Lee decided to step aside and let hubby Carl do his thing. Roll up your sleeves, expand your mind (and cocktail recipe book) and learn a few tricks of the trade from one of Maui’s best (and nicest) bar mixologist.
Carl Anderson began his apprenticeship behind the bar while he was paying his way through college. Honing his craft, he worked his way up to become a trainer for one of the busiest restaurants in the world, Planet Hollywood Orlando. He has also worked as a bar manager at several of the larger nightclubs in Orlando including Mojitos, The Vue, & Club Paris where constant innovation with cocktail trends were a vital skill. Today he works alongside with wife, Chef Lee, as bar manager at Sugar Beach Events.
