Chaminade University hosts the 2017 Marianist Hawaiian Islands Liturgy & Arts Conference: Ho`olohe ia ka nau`au, November 2-4, in the Mystical Rose Oratory (located at Chaminade University). The event is free and open to the public. Free on-campus parking is available.
The event emphasizes the mutual enrichment of the Hawaiian culture and the traditions of Catholic Christianity. Local and mainland artists and presenters come together to form a community as they perform concerts, lectures and workshops about the liturgical arts and the history of culture of the Hawaiian Islands. Special guests include Tony Alonso, Anna Betancourt, Mary Louise Bringle, Joe Camacho, Chris de Silva, Lynne Gray, Fr. Alapaki Kim, Sr. Yoo Soo Kim, Maelia Loebenstein-Carter, Pedro Rubalcava, Bro. Dennis Schmitz and Bro. Rufino Zaragoza.
