"A celebration of the birth of the hula". Admission is free! There will be a variety
of entertainment, Hawaiian food and hand made crafts by the people of Molokai. A series of lectures
will be presented by Halau Hula O Kukunaokala in honor of Kumu John Kaimikaua.
NOAA’S HAWAIIAN ISLANDS HUMPBACK WHALE NATIONAL MARINE SANCTUARY - INFORMATIONAL PUBLIC MEETINGS

Public meetings to launch the public engagement segment of the sanctuary’s management plan review. alternativehawaii.com. The sanctuary is committed to an open and transparent review process and is inviting the public to participate. Throughout the management plan review, the public will have the opportunity to comment on sanctuary management and issues and suggest new directions for the sanctuary. alternativehawaii.com. The Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary, with extensive involvement from local stakeholders, will evaluate how well the existing management plan allows the sanctuary to effectively protect resources given new needs and opportunities.

NATURE CONSERVANCY OF HAWAII HIKES
Date: Monthly
Place: Kamakou and Moomomi Preserves
Nature Conservancy staff and volunteers lead a monthly hike into the lush rainforest of the Kamakou
Preserve and into the Moomomi Preserve, a last stronghold of a major Hawaiian coastal ecosystem
that contains numerous archaeological sites. Hike leaders will meet you at the Molokai airport
at 8:30 am, serve as interpretive guides throughout the hike, and return you to the airport by
3:30 pm. Reservations and a deposit are required. Space is limited and the hikes are often booked
