A NEVER-ENDING TRADITION
Physically isolated from outside peoples, the ancient Hawaiians realized their need for self-reliance. They were forced to use every resource to the fullest. Artisans used available materials such as wood, stone, shell, plants, animal teeth, and bird feathers to create useful items (crafts) for their lives.
Today, this tradition lives on among the native crafters who are charged with maintaining the spirit of this exceptional place.
Mahalo (thank you) for supporting Hawaii's local crafters.
