DISNEY'S MULAN JUNIOR

Maui Academy of Performing Arts presents an action-packed stage production of Disney's Mulan Junior. The show runs two weekends only, Thursday July 9 through Sunday July 19. Show times are 7:30 pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 2:00 pm on Sundays. Tickets are $12 (adults) and $8 (kids 12 and under). Tickets are available at the Customer Service Kiosk at Queen Ka'ahumanu Center, online at www.mauiacademy.org or by phone at 244-8760.

AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY WEST MAUI RELAY FOR LIFE

HUI NOEAU VISUAL ARTS CENTER
Place: 2841 Baldwin Avenue, Makawao (Upcountry)
A unique paradise for the arts awaits you at the Hui Noeau Visual Arts Center. They have art education programs for adults and children, art exhibits, and a gift shop, on an historic upcountry estate with magnificent grounds. Their mission is to encourage and promote the development of artistic expression and creativity in the individual and to stimulate a broader appreciation and understanding of the visual arts as a vital language in our culture. BAILEY HOUSE MUSEUM
Place: 2375-A Main St., Wailuku (Iao Valley)
Time: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday to Saturday. Closed Sundays.
Offers short courses and lectures in Hawaiian history and culture throughout the year as well as other events. Excellent Hawaiian arts and crafts can be found in the Museum Gift Shop. Classes and lectures open to visitors. Call: (808) 244-3326 or visit their site.

STOP BY THE LAHAINA VISITOR CENTER
Date: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. daily
Place: Historic Old Lahaina Courthouse at Banyan Tree Park, Lahaina
Staffed by community volunteers and managed by LahainaTown Action Committee, the Visitor Center's purpose is to provide free, friendly and unbiased information to visitors and others seeking cultural, historical or current knowledge about Lahaina and old LahainaTown. Call: (808) 667-9193.

HALEAKALA NATIONAL PARK
Date: Daily
Ongoing Ranger / Naturalist programs include guided walks, hikes, as well as programs on geology and natural and cultural history and 15 to 20 minute presentations. In the Summit area, special evening star watching programs are conducted periodically. Occasionally special all day and half day hikes, three day service trips, or full moon hikes are offered. ASTRONOMY TOUR OF THE STARS
Date: Nightly
Time: 8, 9 or 10 p.m. plus Fri. & Sat. at 11 p.m.
Place: Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa, Kaanapali (West Maui)
A brilliant tour of the stars is given nightly on the roof for one hour. Astronomy-quality telescopes are set up for viewing pleasure by the star guide. Call: (808) 661-1234.

SUNSET CLIFF-DIVING
Date: Every evening
Place: Sheraton Maui, Kaanapali (West Maui)
The Sheraton Maui rests atop the famed black rock, Puu Kekaa, site of many Hawaiian legends. A torchlighting and cliff diving ceremony is enacted each evening right before sunset. The public can watch a young man in ancient Hawaiian garb light torches as he runs to the rock's summit. Perched at the top, he dives off the cliff into the calm waters surrounding the landmark. WHALERS VILLAGE ENTERTAINMENT
Place: Kaanapali Resort (West Maui)
Enjoy free entertainment and activities at Whalers Village Center Stage. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, watch Polynesian dances from 6:30 to 7 pm then Tahitian dances from 7:30 to 8 pm. Take a lei-making class on Tuesdays and Fridays from noon to 2 pm or take a hula lesson from 3 to 4 pm on Thursdays. Sundays feature Sunset Jazz from 6 to 9 pm. 45 TON TALKS
Date: December-April every Tues.& Thurs.; May-November only on Tues.
Time: 11:00 a.m.
Place: Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale NMS, 726 South Kihei Road, Kihei
This free one hour "talk story" will highlight everything you want to know about humpback whales. Join Sanctuary volunteers and staff for an interactive fun-filled presentation perfect for all ages. Call: (808) 879-2818.

FRIDAY NIGHT IS ART NIGHT
Date: Every Friday Evening, Year-round
Time: 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Place: Lahaina Town (West Maui)
Stroll through dozens of art galleries in Lahaina Town for special gallery shows, featured artists-in-action, and refreshments, all free and open to the public! Lahaina has earned its nick-name of "The Art Capital of the Pacific," due to more art galleries per capita than any other American town. HE UI CULTURAL ARTS FESTIVAL
Date: Varied Weekend Schedule
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Saturday & Sunday)
Place: Lahaina (under the Banyan Tree)

HULA - ARTS AND CRAFTS
Place: Lahaina Cannery Mall, Lahaina
Keiki (children) hula every Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

THE MAUI PANIOLO DANCE ASSOCIATION
Date: Weekly
Place: Tavares (Pukalani) Community Center (Upcountry Maui)
The Maui Paniolo Dance Association is dedicated to country dancing on Maui. They meet once a week, offering free lesson(s) at the beginning hour. Open dance is from 8-10 PM. $3 donation requested. CORAL SPAWNING SPECTACLE 2009

Place: Maui Ocean Center
