HALEAKALA
RANCH OUTPOST
Elevation 4,200 feet. A 30,000 acre historic working cattle ranch
on the way to the Park entrance. Breathtaking views.

HOSMER GROVE
Elevation 6,800 feet. Located just inside the Park entrance. Thirty
minute walk through a magical forest. One of the best spots on Maui
for bird watching.

LELEIWI OVERLOOK
Elevation 8,800 feet. If cloud conditions are right, the "specter of the Brocken"
can be seen (a full-circle rainbow around your own shadow projected onto clouds below you).

KALAHAKU OVERLOOK
Elevation 9,324 feet. Great view. Rare silversword plants can be
seen in a special enclosure.

HALEAKALA VISITOR CENTER
Elevation 9,745 feet. Spectacular view plus cultural, archaeological,
geological and ecological exhibits.

NENE
(HAWAII STATE BIRD)
Once extinct on Maui, the Nene were re-introduced in the 1960s and
now number around 300 in the Park. |

Elevation 10,023 feet. Awe-inspiring view at the summit of the volcano. Hiking trails and
three cabins in the valley.
